Hailing from Sainte-Luce-sur-Mer,
Luce Pelletier lives in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu. She has been exhibiting solo
since 1994 and has taken part in group shows in Canada, France and Italy. With
man’s relationship to nature as a key focus, her installations and photographs
feature the hybrid objects she creates from plants and other natural materials.
The photos assembled for ORANGE
represent things such as glove-like hands fashioned from finely stitched beech
leaves. Plant matter becomes a metaphor for skin. The installation accompanying
the large photos is like a laboratory, presenting information and items
suggestive of research results. This prompts viewers to inspect the display of
catalogued objects on light tables as scientists would do.
