Jennifer Angus is a native of Edmonton, Alberta, living and working in the United States, where she began teaching in the University of Wisconsin-Madison�s Environment, Textiles and Design program in September 2001. Since 1984, she has exhibited in Canada, the United States, Spain, Japan, Australia and England. Her work typically takes the form of �bug wallpaper,� multitudes of insects pinned to the wall in pleasing patterns that are fascinating at first glance but that some find repellent on recognizing the nature of the material. At ORANGE Angus is creating an in situ installation composed with bugs from around the globe and honey produced by Saint-Hyacinthe-area beekeepers. The aim of the piece is, among other things, to question the use of insecticides in agriculture and prompt reflection on our ambiguous relationship with insects.

Jennifer Angus also presents the installation Agents of Nature at the Foreman Art Gallery of Bishop's University from September 13 to November 11, 2006. The artist will give a talk during the vernissage on September 13 at 4 pm.
